For the first time ever this year my hair is thin enough that I've caught the sun on the top of my head. I may have to invest in a hat, but I'm pretty sure I'd look a massive twat in one.

Couple of years ahead of you. I have about a dozen different hats and caps. None of them look good on me.

Get a proper hat, and don’t be tempted to try a baseball cap, or you might end up like this

That was my cue to shave my head. That was in 2000 and I haven’t looked back.
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.

Sport Pursuit are selling Tilley hats at quite a discount, picked up a navy blue Tilley Cotton Duck hat for 30 quid. Lifetime guarantee and they actually make them in large enough sizes to fit round my breeze-block swede.

They're going quickly so might not be many (or any) left.

(I can't link as you need to be registered with sport pursuit to see the deals - but the homepage here: https://www.sportpursuit.com/)

A knotted hankie works fine. Looks good with a string vest and braces to hold up your waders.

The Mrs suggested a straw boater, but she enjoys talking the piss out of me way more than she should.

My ability to remember 70s lyrics far outweighs my ability to remember what the fuck I walked into the kitchen for..

I wore one to a pub recently. The owner kept telling me to take it off, then I discovered he has a lisp.

Was going to out you as Peter Fitz until I read the second sentence.
