Did Faldo not do that once, was all chat and jokes on the first tee and it was so unlike him it freaked the Americans out?

Bryson mashes a drive off the par 5, 600+ yarder and he leaves himself 70 for his second

They were on about him hitting a 9 iron into the 210 yard par 3. A nine iron FFS.Insane_Homer wrote: Fri Sep 24, 2021 7:00 pm Bryson mashes a drive off the par 5, 600+ yarder and he leaves himself 70 for his second :wtf:

This is going to be all over by tomorrow night. What are they going to do on Sunday?

Rahm is more or less doing this all by himself. Europe are getting blown away here.

Rory really stinking up the place. His recent Ryder cup record is very poor; 2 points from last 8 matches. Not sure why Casey gets another round this am? I guess he’ll be rested this pm
If this was a boxing match they would stop it. The European team has too many old stagers hanging about golf picking up place money, and too many journeyman like Fitzpatrick and Weisberger. Add in a woefully out of form McIlroy and you have a disaster.
The Americans are loaded from top to bottom with genuine world class players who seem to enjoy the cup more than their predecessors like Woods and Phil.
This could get very ugly.

Could? It’s a battering already. Take Rahm out of that Europe team and probably Sergio as well and you’ve nothing left. All out of form, out of time, reputation over results.Blackmac wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 9:06 am If this was a boxing match they would stop it. I lost interest early on. Reminded me of the days when it was Britain only.ScarfaceClaw wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 10:59 amCould? It’s a battering already. Hatton is spraying it around like me on the first day back in the driving range after a winter off. Europe generally putting like they’ve never seen a golf green in their life.

Looking at 9-3 at lunch. Start engraving U-S-A on the trophy. This one is done.

Europe just don't have the cattle this year.
The US are well worth whatever the final score is.

They've got plenty of beef, it's minerals they're short of.

Rahm and Garcia teamed up again. Probably down to desperation from Europe and partly from them not wanting to be paired with the rest of the team. Poulter and McIlroy as the fourth pairing will be interesting. Neither has played well at all. It’s a match where they’ll both be trying too hard and has blow out written all over it.

They all know it.
The wind is freshening; & the European players all know they might as well go for it, & see if they can rattle the Yanks by getting the early momentum

McGinley - a great captain and an ordinary commentator - at every turn (not just Ryder Cup) has a complete blind spot to Rory’s shortcomings/form etc
Rory is done. Too many holes in his game now. It used to just be the putting but now it's the driving as well and the fact he isn't much better a wedge player than a 5 handicapper.Deveron Boy wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 6:45 pm McGinley - a great captain and an ordinary commentator - at every turn (not just Ryder Cup) has a complete blind spot to Rory’s shortcomings/form etc

I’ve been (mostly) watching all evening and couldn’t even think of when I saw McIlroy in the coverage.Blackmac wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 7:34 pmRory is done. Too many holes in his game now. I’d genuinely forgotten he was playing in this session.

He always has one bad round in him in a pressure match. FFS. Laura Davis on Sky has just said that we all know Rory can hit a putt under pressure and that’s what Europe need. He’s a disaster zone when putting under pressure.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 7:47 pm It's all in McIlroy's head. Sky giving it large with replays of Medina. That’s a bit optimistic there Sky.

Any pressure he just sags like a pensioner's ballbag. If Europe send him out last in the singles and USA have already won the cup by the time he reaches the turn, he'd shoot 29 on the back-9.

He’s a phenomenal player when the pressure is off. He’s likely win his match 7&6 sort of thing when it doesn’t matter anymore.Kawazaki wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 8:04 pmScarfaceClaw wrote: Sat Sep 25, 2021 7:51 pmHe always has one bad round in him in a pressure match. I won't be too smug about calling for Lowry to be in the team ....
