Didn't know that. Even better!
Ashes / Proteas vs India
I am not totally certain the docked points were the difference but it made the news at the time.
https://www.republicworld.com/sports-ne ... alify.htmlNot only did the Tim Paine-led Australian side failed to gain enough WTC points in home Tests against India, they were also docked four points for maintaining a slow over-rate at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). India won the match in contention by eight wickets on the back of stand-in skipper Ajinkya Rahane’s twin batting heroics.

I know the umpires have a tough job - but the weighting of poor decisions for and against is way to in favour of India.
Suppose you just have to accept it in India though.

That ball was missing by quite a lot.Thor Sedan wrote: Sun Nov 28, 2021 11:14 am I know the umpires have a tough job - but the weighting of poor decisions for and against is way to in favour of India.

I understand the sensible option of trying to bat out time for a draw, but we still have time to press for a win in the last session if we can retain enough wickets after lunch. More likely to get skittled in short order, of course.
Nervous as hell...

Not watching. How is the pitch playing? Is a run chase on the cards?
Not much you can do against excellent bowling from both ends, so probably not.FalseBayFC wrote: Mon Nov 29, 2021 7:21 am Not watching. How is the pitch playing? Is a run chase on the cards?

Aye - we got in as a result of their penalty. How sad, never mind.

I drink and I forget things.
If anyone can do it on this pitch against these bowlers, it is Kane and Rosco.FalseBayFC wrote: Mon Nov 29, 2021 7:21 am Not watching. How is the pitch playing? Is a run chase on the cards?
