Just said the same on the Scottish thread, absolute nonsense
Well, it will teach the young kid a lesson and next time he'll be careful about his tackle technique.

But yeah, there was no head against head contact, and at one point I even thought the TMO was looking at the Scottish player elbowing the French player in the face.

That poor ref had a mare. She was struggling all night. Another highlight was the French shoving the Scottish scrum before introduction and she gave the French the penalty! :lolno:

As I said before, I think she has been poor but her TMO and rest of the team are really letting her down as well. I really think the TMOs have to shut the fuck up
In fairness, the second red was justified.

Right, back to the Senior's game.

Question mark for France will be how Moefana performs on the wing with little to no experience in this position. And how Penaud whose tackling technique is rather bad will handle short Graham without conceding penalties for high tackles.

I suspect Finn will have his game of the season, motivated by playing his club partner Fickou.

I also think he will test Moefana / Jaminet and turn Moefana back quite a bit so that Moefana will have a challenge in managing his positioning. Then use the wide channel and launch big VDM at him.

Will the Scottish lineout function well? Two new locks and a rather short backrow. This could be an opportunity for France.

I hope France brings the intensity.

Should be a good game. I just hope it won't be frustrating

You wonder at what point having such poor refs becomes a safety issue at this sort of level. I watched a bit of the eng v Wales under 20s and it was weirdly chaotic and frenetic as she was just missing infraction after infraction.

I guess it's all part of a greater plan to try and develop more women match officials?

No issue with women officials. The Fre one was superb last week. But jamming in women just for the sake of making up quotas is bollox and double jeopardy when it was this Italian. There are no Ita refs on the intl panel male or female and this tokenism just resulted in a clown show.

The ref in the England V Wales match was Joy Neville, one of the most experienced Women referees (she reffed the Womens World Cup final in 2017 and was named Rugby Referee of the year in the same year).

The reason all the under 20 games have teams of women refs officiating is to give them additional experience and exposure in advance of the Womens World Cup later this year.

I agree that the French ref, Aurélie Groizeleau, who was in charge for Italy V England, has been far and away the most impressive so far.

Oh dear Scotland.

First trying to globetrotter out of their own 22, then waiting for others to make the tackle on Dupont, until the French have lined up ready to run over the line.

Could be a long match.

Tupolotu, classic flat track bully with an incredibly limited skill set. Ball had to go to VdM.

Ref letting France away with murder at the line out. That's two they've held the lifter for a long time.

What a total clown Dickson is.

Penalty France for contact in the air.
Hey France I'm warning you for your penalty offence of holding players in the air.

Absolutely embarrassing for a professional referee.

In fairness, the touch judge and TMO weren't very quick to point to it either.

Very blatant though.

I'd say part of the reason Woki was left up was Gilchrist being interfering with his being let down.

The ref can penalise that while also warning France that they need to bring their man down quicker. It's hardly the first time a ref has warned a team for doing something that's on the border of being an offence while giving a sanction for a definite offence.

Thirty minutes and three turnovers for Darge and one try.

As I said pre tournament he's playing better than Watson.

Why does the referee keep calling every handling error knock-on? Lots of them have gone back
