Yeah but not within the last… 20km, I think it is?
So if he was suffering then, he was on his own.

Ahh, thank you.Guy Smiley wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 10:00 am Yeah but not within the last… 20km, I think it is?

Just watching the highlights now, fantastic stuff

Main issue is that he couldn't drop to his support car in the previous climb for fear of being attacked at that point, or because he was putting on a show and drilling it in the front trying to get rid of his followers. He paid the price on the final climb.Slick wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:17 amMissed yesterday unfortunately! I was reading about it this morning though and there was chat about Pogacar getting dehydrated and none of his team mates could get water to him. Isn't his support car allowed to go and give him water?Blackmac wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 8:14 amAbsolutely amazing stage. I was actually thinking the previous day, when will INEOS thrown their eggs into one basket and start launching attacks but Jumbo just blew that to bits. I hope Pog can recoup and relaunch his challenge.Guy Smiley wrote: Wed Jul 13, 2022 6:38 pm Stage 11 and the first foray into the Alps...
Jumbo Visma throw the big balls on the line and attack Pogacar, coming away with Yellow for Vingegard and a 2 minute lead, with Pogacar in 3rd just seconds ahead of Thomas.
I slept through this, catching highlights in the morning our time. Tonight might be worth staying up for with another savage day of climbing.
We're lucky, we're seeing an amazing generational change in the peloton.
So far one of the best tours in years.
Ineos are very disappointing really. Having such big names in the squad and none of them able to challenge, they can only follow.Blackmac wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 8:14 amAbsolutely amazing stage. Would love to know what they were saying to each other after the 2 mini breaks from Podegar. Vingegard didn’t look like he was fucking about

I like to think he was egging him on to go again. ‘Go on fella, have another go, see if you can break me. Bet you cant’. Psychological warfare.
And are there two g’s in Bugger Off?
That was my though. Looked a bit like Podegar was having a joke and he was having nothing of itBiffer wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:20 pmI like to think he was egging him on to go again. ‘Go on fella, have another go, see if you can break me. Bet you cant’. Psychological warfare.

That was a descending masterclass from Pidcock... I stuck with it up until the second climb and watching his choice of lines was a joy.
A first stage win for him on one of the biggest climbs, on a beast of a day, good to see.
And add yet another of the cyclocross / MTB world champions' names to the roll call of heavy hitting road cyclists... this current crop of top riders is a whole new level of strength and skill from years past.

Superb by Pidcock. What a rider. May be the future Alaphilippe?Guy Smiley wrote: Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:27 pm That was a descending masterclass from Pidcock... I stuck with it up until the second climb and watching his choice of lines was a joy.

I think it's fair to say that after stage 3 they had an absolute shocker. I think Senechal might have got a couple of top 10's but Jakobsen was a disaster in the mountains and didn't even get close to the pointy end of another stage.Biffer wrote: Tue Jun 28, 2022 3:46 am What the fuck are Quickstep up to? They have the reigning green jersey winner, the French national road race champion and the World road race champion under contract. None of them picked for the TdF team.
I hope they have a really shit tour.
Definitely. He has spent a huge amount of energy, attacking on almost every stage. He won a TT, rode Pogacar off his wheel in the mountains, got a tally of 3 stages and the green jersey, wasn't far from the Polka Dots jersey. Outstanding.
If he can shade 5kgs without losing his power, he could win the TDF.
