Can you imagine the scenario and how it would be perceived if an adult teacher and a 6yr old had a Mexican standoff with loaded weapons and the teacher shoots first.

The gun culture in the US and the fucking stupid parents, who somehow let a 6 yr old have access to a loaded handgun, and managed to take it into school. The mindset of that household must be certifiable..
If you are referring to my comment, rest assured that it was said with tongue firmly in cheek. I did not think it needed to be made more obvious.
Was Calculon's tongue firmly in his cheek too? :shifty:
I'm not that sure he does 'tongue in cheek'.

It's for SELF DEFENSE! You have to give your teachers a fighting chance. In this case the teacher was already at a disadvantage being a woman (as most primary school teachers are) and a larger target than the six year old.
Children are also particularly dextrous so in a quick draw Mcgraw scenario the 6 year old would be blowing the smoke from the barrel before the teacher had started looking in their handbag. For this reason open carry is vital for pre and primary school teachers
Surely at the start of each lesson teachers should shoot a random kid in the class as a pre-emptive strike.. to show they shouldn't be mucked around with?

There aren't many people whose death i would celebrate but Murdoch is one of them.

Don't forget that the 6 year old also has the advantage of being a smaller target.
The child's greatest advantage is that it would take a seriously sick f*ck to shoot a six year old. I think the 99.9% majority of teachers just couldn't do it even in a Mexican stand off.

The idea of teachers having guns is just sick.

They should have tasers. That'll learn the little shits.

Tasers vs Guns, not a good idea

Ideally for a CQB environment you'd want the teacher to have a PCC (provided the student is not wearing body armour) but for practical purposes any wonder nine would have to do

Again, hard to hit the little bar stewards in time. Best to fit them all with shock-collars, & then have a, Big Red Button on the teachers desk.

One word out of line, & they all go down !

I used to like it in Edinburgh when the pubs cleared to go the clubs and you'd get seats around a big table with your mates

One of the comments attacked, I think, a conservative reporter saying this must be shown when someone says "The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun." Well clearly cast iron balls, a bit of wrestling, and some stern scolding can too!

(Not that people should have to face gun violence and be put into a situation that causes some to be so brave/selfless, and not that those cunts will listen, but ... )

Would he have been done for first degree murder if he shot the guy with his own gun?

It certainly wouldn't rise to the level of 1st Degree murder.

For one he didn't bring the gun to the party. If he'd taken the gun off him, & then cold-bloodedly shot him, he could get charged with a lesser charge, but only if the DA wanted to waste their time, & not get re-elected, because there isn't a snowballs chance in hell of getting a conviction.

Given the number of school shootings in the US, this was statistically likely to happen at some point. The worst people on the internet will now spend the next week arguing about the transness rather than the schools being shot up being terrible part.

All countries have their own unique issues but America from a political perspective just seems totally fucked to continuiosly allow these things to happen while doing little/nothing to stop it.

It really needs to get to grips with itself sooner rather than later or whatever credibility it once had on the international stage will be gone.

If I lived there I'd probably want to own a gun given the state of things FFS.

There’s some stat that says that 70% of mass shooters have a record for domestic violence or similar.
Yet they can’t get meaningful legislation through on that.

One trans shooter and watch the nut cases calling for a trans gun ownership ban or worse

Tbf its not the guns fault that the shooter becomes batshit crazy enough to do it.

It is the gun's fault for the scale of the tragedies though. Some dickhead wielding a knife or some other object might take out 1 or 2 people before being taken down you'd like to think. Plus you'd need to be a physically strong person to manhandle people, whereas someone with a gun (and training using it) probably can be a streaky weasel.

The fact that an elected official is coming out with that kind of wank is worrying though.
