-fuck up the organisation of player transport to the Sale match in the Euro group stages, so that half the team had to fly to Birmingham and the other half to Manchester, and only got to the ground with less than an hour before kickoff. Ulster got tanked 30-odd nil.
-after getting tanked by Sale the previous week, Ulster were set to welcome the reigning European champs La Rochelle to Belfast. Except no one in the organisation bothered to look at the weather forecast, or notice how cold it was when they took the bins out. A cold snap (that was predicted to hit), hit thay week. The pitch was left uncovered and subsequently froze. Ulster were then told on the Friday that the pitch was unplayable, and the match (the biggest money earning match of the year for the club) would need to be moved to Dublin. Ulster lost around £750k due to that particular fuck up.
-now we come to the current shitshow. Ravenhill's pitch is gash, and rightly or wrongly, will be changed into a 4G pitch to avoid a repeat of the LaR fuckup. Except they havent taken into account that the plans (which were only formally submitted recently) will take around 3-4 months to be approved by Belfast City Council. Also I think the rubber bits they were planning to use have some issue with them. Plus there are some environmental concerns over the project, especially after Ulster freely admited that they dump waste into a nearby river. And the local residents (posh twats) will reject anything that will make Ravenhill more likely to hold more events like concerts etc. So it looks like there is a fair chance this project will be scrapped given the new season is 4 months away, or will go ahead but we'll not have a pitch for a few months. Knowing Ulster, I'd put money on the later, given its the much more clusterfuck-esque outcome.
Ulster were a proper local success story from the mid-00s to the mid 10s. Well run organisation, the product on the pitch was worth watching (limited success tbf), fancy new upgrade to the ground, it was the place to be in town on a match day.
Since the Paddy Jackson incident, it has been one car crash after another. I know plenty of fans that have walked away for good given how badly the situation was handled, and then the numerous fuck ups since, complete lack of accountability for whoever in the team keeps making utterly shite signings, the general head in the sand, not reading the room, marketing style of the organisation pumping out the "Everything Is Awesome" message, when in reality its a jokeshop.
God, I feel much better after that
