The Stormers haven't lost at home plus the sneak one away win. Far from panicking
Munster???
away. We played our best game against them with our C team. at least we picked up 3 bonus point for losing within 7. Your Sharks team got a thrashing, lost against Zebre.
Yoh. Nasty.

You are obviously now referring to this season. And not completely as I understood

Ordinarily I'd be   , but this season there's been a lot more fight about the Italian sides, & I think the battle for the playoffs is going to be a massive dogfight.
Nah - Just Edinburgh being Edinburgh

Glasgow beat Benetton last week collecting all 5 points ( and Glasgow really didn't play that well )

Benetton have improved, and will most likely make the playoff as will Edinburgh - but we can probably pick the Top six now - with a dogfight only for the last couple of places
4 Irish sides, Glasgow, Bulls?

Not too sure, things are still pretty congested. Glasgow, for instance, despite leading the log still have Munster away, the SA tour, 1872 games and Benetton away to negotiate which are all tough. They should get more than enough points from all the Welsh games and Zebre double header to comfortably finish in the top-4 though.

The Saffer sides will come back into it with the Boks available and could challenge top-4 still.
Yep, two years ago it had the same trend. Still a lot of rugby to be played.

Stormers will have all their Bok back plus a host of injured players like Roos, Dayimani, Dixon, Hartzenberg. 10 players total. Just in time for the big clash next week against Leicester. We need to win in tandem with Leinster to qualify for play-off

Connacht at the Sports Ground in December has always been a tough place to go for Leinster.

Jacques Nienaber has been there before so hopefully he's got a plan.

Have to repost
See the shield work differently from this year
Whereas in the past overall log position and points accumulated in all games played have counted to the Shield, that is no longer the case. It is now about just the points accumulated in the derby games between the teams in the Shield, with the games against overseas teams no longer contributing to the Shield.
Stormers leading the SA Shield, 5 points against the Lions. Wins at home against the Bulls, Sharks and Lions can seal it

Even if he wasn't at Munster before, he's coached a national team of one of the URC nations so has watched a lot of URC video. There'll be no surprises for him in this comp.

I think the Sharks have been disadvantaged at the start of this season by having a head coach new to the URC, a lot of people not exposed to it underestimate the teams.

As a Bulls fan I am a bit nervous about the game against the Sharks, we have not had great success against other SA teams in the last couple of years, even losing to the lions at home last year. Even though the Bulls have the better form going into this game, I just do not know what to expect from the Sharks. It seems it is going to be another hot & windless day tomorrow with temperature expected to be between 32-36 deg at the time they start playing. Should be a good day out though, luckily i sit in the shade

I wanted to say that but then you will complain that I never post positive of the Sharks.

The Sharks have the forwards (Etsebeth is going to have a royal time in the lineouts) to dominate possession, Bulls pack look weak. Everything else depend on Curwin Bosch. Both teams defense is shite.Run at them I think and the job is done.

Silly question time.
Etzebeth is from cape town. He played for stormers for 7 years before.
Why did he sign for sharks instead of stormers?

I was a bit worried we'd have one of those nights down in Cork where the fog descends, & any TV coverage becomes a farce, but it all looks good for what should be an entertaining match

Glasgow look a bit cowed already. 7 penalties in the first 5 minutes!

Poor start by them

On the up side, Viacom seem to have got rid of the Irish commentators

Ref definitely on Glasgows case. Obviously doesn’t watch much Irish rugby or appreciate irony

Bit annoying he literally watched Darge being dragged out the ruck by an offside player on the floor then the next ruck yellows a Glasgow player for being on the wrong side!

Edit: not saying Glasgow didn’t deserve a yellow

😂 lands on the floor, gets up, drives across the line for the try then sits and runs his head pretending to be hurt trying to get another yellow.

and yet once they manage 3-4 mins without shooting themselves in the foot, they get in with a by-the-numbers 1st phase try.
