It's a fair point. The right have been so outrageous that the left have been left with no recourse but to fight fire with fire. Biden's big challenge if he wins will be to pull the US back from the brink without giving the far right a "casus belli" to incite further violence.

Not sure where they've got that from (did they explain that?). 538 have a nice election forecasting site, that's been using all the polling data, local and national to forecast the win....40,000 simulations a day. What that shows, apart from them giving Trump an 11% chance of victory, is that Trump has been polling downwards since Sept 1st. He was a 31% chance at that point and has been gradually heading down, with consistent drops week on week. It's not a given...11% is still too much of a chance for comfort, particularly when we take the supreme court and willingness to cheat into the equation, but the chance of a big Biden win is there. The fact that they suggest momentum is with Biden seems important to me too.

I think the Rubicon has already been crossed with the plot against the Michigan governor. Any moves towards the centre will be met with resistance from increasingly militant far rightists.

Any moves to clamp down on them will be painted as oppression.

I am nervous of the health plan which might be enacted.

When the ACA was implemented for which Obama said you would be able to keep your service providers, it didn’t work out that way. My wife was unemployed and had her private insurance. If she had not stayed private, she would not have been able to keep her doctors, and over a couple of years her premium more than doubled in instead of slowly decreasing as it had been.

And yesterday I was looking for a cheaper Medicare plan. The one available limited my providers to my local area meaning that I could no longer use the hospital/clinic who were treating my condition.
