Now I don't know if that crime is Federal, (& the inevitable self-pardon), or State; or even possibly both; because there was a down ballot too, as well as the Presidential election happening; & this would open up the field to the DNC demanding charges.

It's one thing to do this kind of shit in person; it's entirely another to do it where it can be recorded.

This being dropped now makes the attempt at a self-pardon all the more certain, & with that comes a whole new set of problems for the GOP; as if they say that it's fine to self-pardon, they leave the door open for Biden or another Democrat to do the same, after all kinds of goodness .....

Now a further interesting wrinkle; is if this conspiracy to commit election fraud is ongoing; e.g. if some other individuals were to, say, suggest that there was a shred of legitimacy to his claims, or pretend, falsely, that they had evidence that supported his claims; but couldn't actually support this. In that case; these in individuals could/would also be considered part of the overall conspiracy.

So there are a lot of GOP fluffers who would need to think twice before the just blindly support this bullshit, because they could end up part of a conspiracy to defraud the Nation & State elections, & could end up with zero prospect of a pardon.

I agree that it is looking increasingly hard to see a path for Trump to run in 2024 and I like the idea of upper age limits on candidates.
