President Trump and US politics catchall
I'm no financial expert, but can't they just get the money back from those who don't need it at tax time? Someone on another forum said he donated his first one to charity.
There've been a few stories here about Revenue Canada also getting money back from people who applied for money made available, were given it during the emergency phase, but later being deemed ineligible.

The average American millionaire will consider this handout to be a well-deserved tax rebate.Niegs wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 12:16 pm I'm no financial expert, but can't they just get the money back from those who don't need it at tax time? That would seem to be a swing and a miss.Fangle wrote: Sat Jan 02, 2021 10:35 am Not having a pop is why you posted it twice? So you’re an admirer of AOC and supporting Trump here.
I don't think you could call AOC a Trump supporter as Trump's overtly populist call to pay people more money is a bluff worth calling.
I suspect that HK feels that there's a lot more to admire in AOC than in Trump, so it would seem that saying that he admires her is not quite the insult you appear to believe.
And lastly, I would hope that your use of the technology on both these boreds would lead you to understand that a double post is not necessarily a measure to add emphasis, particularly when a cellphone is used.

Under any normal circumstances, he would be dead meat. But this is Trump, the MAGA cunts and the GOP, so it's just another log on the pile that will be buried by whatever scum shit they do tomorrow.
His twitter feed and the replies are my daily dose of unmitigated hilarity..

It's sounds like he's dropping himself in a gigantic pile of shit, called, "conspiracy".Slick wrote: Sun Jan 03, 2021 9:18 pm This seems pretty shocking. Is it as big as it sounds? Have they got him?
Now I don't know if that crime is Federal, (& the inevitable self-pardon), or State; or even possibly both; because there was a down ballot too, as well as the Presidential election happening; & this would open up the field to the DNC demanding charges.
It's one thing to do this kind of shit in person; it's entirely another to do it where it can be recorded.
This being dropped now makes the attempt at a self-pardon all the more certain, & with that comes a whole new set of problems for the GOP; as if they say that it's fine to self-pardon, they leave the door open for Biden or another Democrat to do the same, after all kinds of goodness .....
[Edit] So I checked; & yes; he is both committing State & Federal charges, & by soliciting these over of cross State phone call; he is also committing a Federal charge.
Now a further interesting wrinkle; is if this conspiracy to commit election fraud is ongoing; e.g. if some other individuals were to, say, suggest that there was a shred of legitimacy to his claims, or pretend, falsely, that they had evidence that supported his claims; but couldn't actually support this. In that case; these in individuals could/would also be considered part of the overall conspiracy.
So there are a lot of GOP fluffers who would need to think twice before the just blindly support this bullshit, because they could end up part of a conspiracy to defraud the Nation & State elections, & could end up with zero prospect of a pardon.
if they ban you do they delete your data ? (I think not)...
no idea, i have been banned more than 20 times now, my account now has this

Maybe a silly question but how has the recording got out into public domain?
Is it usual for all the president's calls to be recorded?

I think anyone with a half a brain would be recording their calls with this cunt.Uncle fester wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 10:24 am Maybe a silly question but how has the recording got out into public domain?

Trump threatened him and lied about the call on Twitter so he leaked it to the Washington Post. Tom Arnold has started some kind of campaign to get everyone who has recorded calls of Trump being a cunt to release them, so lets hope this is the first of many.

Georgia SoS recorded it. I've read that it's ok for 1 party to record a conversation without notifying the other end..Margin__Walker wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 10:37 amGuessing this one will have been recorded from both ends.GogLais wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 10:35 amI’d guess it all been recorded since about JFK’s time.Uncle fester wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 10:24 am Maybe a silly question but how has the recording got out into public domain?

Interesting - during an interview with the reporter she just pointed out that not only is it legal in Georgia, it's also legal in DC. Maybe just redirection to protect her source, but I don't think that it's a forgone conclusion which side this leaked fromTB63 wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 10:58 amGeorgia SoS recorded it. Trump sounds like a second tier mafia Don who is bargaining to avoid getting whacked by the capo dei capi before he reveals something to the Feds. Or in this case, Novichok'd by Putin.
Trump is really shooting himself in the foot in the Republican party. I think he had a chance of running again in 2024, but he is alienating himself from so many that his support must be dwindling. And he, like so many of these contenders, is far too old. It’s impossible, but I would like an upper age limit for a person going for his first term at under 70.

Except that a goodly percentage of the Republican party are willing to burn democracy for the sake of overturning the election to please this fucking lunatic and appease his shithead supporters. This is no longer performative, it's flat out sedition and if it was occurring in the third world we'd be screaming "failed state".Fangle wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 7:28 pm Trump is really shooting himself in the foot in the Republican party. Rally size for the win. And if we're being honest okay Obama thrashed Trump in inaugural crowds, but Trump is almost certainly going to thrash Biden by a bigger multiple

What of the cow?
I agree that it is looking increasingly hard to see a path for Trump to run in 2024 and I like the idea of upper age limits on candidates.Fangle wrote: Mon Jan 04, 2021 7:28 pm Trump is really shooting himself in the foot in the Republican party.
