A friend of ours came back from the UK with a big box of rapid covid tests. Gave us a pack of 5.

Here we're paying between Kshs. 5000 and 8000 (R665 - R1065) for a test that can take 48 hours to get back to you.

Imagine being able to test yourself instantly in the privacy of your own home for free. Imagine.

Aren't the rapid tests known to be unreliable?

This doesn't help.

https://www.enca.com/news/covid-19-vacc ... y-lootings
But the Independent Community Pharmacy Association said this "now becomes impossible since pharmacy vaccination sites have been destroyed and looted".

"It is with utter dismay that we as independent pharmacies, the frontline against COVID-19 infections and a primary role player in vaccinations, find ourselves in a desperate situation," it said in a statement.

Children are fine, next thing wife tests positive. Not feeling too flash, but compared to others I think she's pretty fortunate. So wife isolating and I'm looking after the youngsters and trying to do a bit of work.

Decrease.

Iol.co.za
The seven-day moving average daily number has decreased.

“The total number of cases today (n= 12 537) is higher than yesterday (n= 11 182) but lower than the average number of new cases per day over the seven preceding days (n=18 344).”

Ek hoop maar die Wes en Oos Kaap bly gespaar. Ons het met die 2de peak swaar gekry en die DA regering leer darem uit ondervinding uit.

On the positive side (for me at least) it looks like my parents are over the worst.

Dad is on day 11 since his first symptoms, and looks and sounds good. O2 saturation back up to 98%. Just a slight cough left but that's clearing up.
Mom is on day 7 and O2 is at 96%, but did drop as low as 92% briefly on day 5. Still has a slight cough, but says her chest doesn't feel as tight as it did and breathing is easier now.

I'm just grateful they both got their jabs before they got sick. I'm convinced that at least one of the them wouldn't have made it without it.
